TenneT TSO B.V. would like to inform on the upcoming grid developments that will take place before the end of this year.

Finalization of the Randstad 380 kV Noordring project

The 380kV lines “Vijfhuizen – Bleiswijk Orange” and “Vijfhuizen – Bleiswijk Purple” will be taken into operation at the end of Q3 2019. These are the last lines of the large Clusterproject Randstad 380 kV Noordring coming into operation.

Grid reinforcements in south-west area of the Netherlands

TenneT is carrying out another large Clusterproject ‘Zuid-West 380 kV’ with the purpose to increase capacity in the south-west area of the Netherlands and to enable the transport of future off-shore wind electricity. One of the first parts of this project, is the realization of a new 380 kV-substation “Rilland” which will gradually come in operation in Q4 2019.

As result of this new substation, the following changes will happen in the 380kV grid:

· The current line Borssele – Zandvliet will be splitted into Borssele – Rilland and Rilland - Zandvliet.

· The line Geertruidenberg – Zandvliet will be splitted into Geertruidenberg – Rilland and Rilland – Zandvliet.

There are several outage period required to take the substation Rilland into full operation. These outages are published on the website (https://www.tennet.eu/electricity-market/transparency-pages/urgent-market-messages-planned-maintenance-nl/). The final situation is expected to be realized mid-December 2019.

Announcement of Impact assessment (SPAIC) of the above changes

For the grid reinforcement in south-west area of the Netherlands, TenneT will perform an impact assessment according to the agreed SPAIC procedures. The changes in topology coming from the Randstad 380 kV Noordring project together with the implementation of substation Rilland will lead to an update of the CBCO list for TenneT TSO B.V. These changes will be combined into one SPAIC, which will be published in due time in Q4 2019.
