Confirmation of Go-live of Multiple NEMO Arrangements in CWE

Dear Market Participants,

Following previous message posted on 21 June 2019, CWE Project Parties today confirm that Multiple NEMO Arrangements (MNA) in CWE bidding zones will be implemented as of 2 July 2019 (delivery day 3 July 2019). With these arrangements, the Single Day Ahead Coupling will be accessible by more than one NEMO (Nominated Electricity Market Operator) per bidding zone.

As of 2 July 2019, all NEMO’s order books will be forwarded to the centralized market coupling algorithm of the Single Day Ahead Coupling. The general principles of capacity allocation will not be affected by the introduction of MNA, as there will be still one single market clearing price and one net position per bidding zone, in normal operational circumstances.

Calculation of cross-border capacities is not affected by the implementation of MNA.

In CWE, the following NEMOs have been designated by the competent regulatory authorities and have announced to be active in the Single Day Ahead Coupling as of 2 July 2019 (delivery day 3 July 2019):

Austrian bidding zone:

- EPEX SPOT

- EXAA

- EMCO / Nord Pool

Belgian bidding zone:

- EPEX SPOT

- EMCO / Nord Pool

Dutch bidding zone:

- EPEX SPOT

- EMCO / Nord Pool

French bidding zone:

- EPEX Spot

- EMCO / Nord Pool

German/Luxembourgian bidding zone (NEMOs will be represented in all scheduling areas):

- EPEX SPOT

- EXAA

- EMCO / Nord Pool

Moreover, the Multiple NEMO Arrangement in CWE is designed to accommodate more than the NEMOs included in the above list.

Best regards,

CWE Parties
