To the attention of all registered market participants of JAO S.A.

Dear Market Participants,

Following the most recent events in British parliament regarding the United Kingdom’s Withdrawal agreement from the European Union, JAO S.A. would like to draw your attention to the Open letter on the Withdrawal of the UK from the European Union issued by ACER on 8 January 2019 and the letter issued by Ofgem on 4 December 2018. The letters provide guidance to market participants about the views of the Agency and the National regulator with regard to certain repercussions on the implementation of REMIT of the withdrawal of the UK from the European Union on 29 March 2019, in case this were to happen without a Withdrawal agreement.

The applicable requirements are being defined in the letters for market participants that are currently registered with a National Regulator in the UK (NIAUR or Ofgem). These market participants, and who wish to enter into transactions or place orders to trade in European Union’s wholesale energy markets after 29 March 2019, will need to be registered with a national regulatory authority of another EU member country where they are predominantly active.
