Calendar 2021 Capacity Auctions - Nemo Link

Nemo Link is delighted to announce that we will be holding a number of auctions for 2021 annual capacity over the coming months with the first auction offering 100MW in both directions (BE to GB and GB to BE) opening on 7th September 2020.

 

Given recent communications from the European Commission, we expect that GB will no longer be able to participate in the EU Internal Energy Market from 1st January 2021 and therefore market participants are required to accept the non-IEM rules in the JAO participation agreement in order to be able to participate in Nemo Link auctions for capacity delivery in 2021.  Market participants can accept the non-IEM rules by updating attachment 1 through JAO’s participation agreement amendment as follows:

·         Download Participation Agreement Amendment 11

·         In attachment 1 indicate “YES” to “Rules for Forward Capacity Allocation on the GB-Belgium Border”

·         [Optional: It may also make sense to indicate “YES” to rules for Daily Capacity Allocation in anticipation of a return to daily explicit auctions]

·         Return the completed form to the JAO Helpdesk

 

It is essential for market participants that have not already done so to complete the above process in order to be able to buy Nemo Link capacity for delivery in 2021.

Nemo Link Loss Factor Changes on 1st September 2020 to 2.372%

 

Customers are reminded that Nemo Link’s mid-point loss factor will reduce from the current 2.6% to 2.372% effective from business day 01/09/2020 at 00:00 CEST.  More details on how this affects nomination processes and rounding rules can be found here (https://www.nemolink.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/New-Loss-Factor-Calculation_26082020.pdf).
