DAY-AHEAD COORDINATED CROSS-BORDER CAPACITY CALCULATION ON THE ITALIAN NORTHERN BORDERS FULL LIVE TEST POSTPONED DUE TO TENSE SITUATION FOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN SWITZERLAND 2015, December 09 Following the communication on the same subject published on 2015 December 1st, the Transmission Sys-tem Operators of the Northern Italian Borders inform market participants that the full live test phase of the day ahead coordinated NTC capacity calculation process has been postponed. As better explained in the official Media Release published on the Swissgrid website on 2015 December 2nd https://www.swissgrid.ch/swissgrid/en/home/current/media/media_releases/media_releases_2015/_02_12_2015_01.html the current grid situation and the supply of energy for winter 2015/16 in Switzerland is estimated as tense due to a number of interconnected special circumstances. Even if the robustness and the readiness of the day-ahead coordinated cross-border capacity calculation process and tools have been recognized, the Transmission System Operators of the Northern Italian Borders have, upon the request of Swissgrid, agreed to postpone the start of the full live test phase in order to better investigate the possible impact of the day-ahead procedures and results on the expected scenario. As a consequence, the Full Live Test is expected to start in a not yet defined date in January 2016. Further communication will follow in the coming weeks.
