IBWT IDCC External Parallel Run

Dear Market Participants,

The TSOs of Italy North region submitted to NRAs their proposal for an intraday common capacity calculation, in accordance with Article 21 of the CACM regulation. The Italy North region comprises the following bidding zone borders of the respective CCR in line with the CACM Regulation: Italy North - France , Italy North – Austria, Italy North – Slovenia. Considering the structure of the grid, the border Italy North – Switzerland is also included in the intraday common capacity calculation. The participating TSOs to the Intraday Capacity Calculation are therefore Terna (Italy), RTE (France), APG (Austria), ELES (Slovenia) and Swissgrid (Switzerland). The abovementioned TSOs are happy to move forward with the implementation of a coordinated intraday capacity calculation. Ahead of the Go Live, a period of parallel run is foreseen with the aim for TSOs and market participants to get familiar with the new process. As of 12/09, the cross-zonal capacities for each bidding-zone border, calculated for the period covered by the auction XBID2 (16h-24h) according to the proposal for an intraday common capacity calculation, will be daily published on this web page until the capacities will start to be offered to the intraday market.

The IDCC process only calculates for the time being the NTC values in Italy’s import direction (i.e.: NTC X->IT, with X: AT, CH, FR and SI).
