The TSOs involved in the day-ahead Core Flow-Based Capacity Calculation project (Core FB DA) hereby announce the increased stability of the external parallel run and switch to immediate publication of capacity calculation results for 7 out of 7 business days per week, starting on the 13th of April for Business Day the 15th of April.

In November 2020, Core TSOs communicated the start of the progressive transition towards the External parallel run, which included publication of the first capacity calculation results that are deemed sufficiently representative as of the 6th of December 2020. After that, Core TSOs progressed to stabilise the operational process with the latest system releases to make the next step in the External parallel run.

Daily publication of results

Publication of the capacity calculation results will remain on the JAO website, the initial schedule where results were published with a 14 days delay will no longer be applicable. Capacity calculation results will be published immediately after the Core day-ahead capacity calculation has taken place on a daily basis, whereas Market coupling Simulation results will be published Week X + 21 days (Saturday). Performing simulations takes more time as confidential order books from NEMOs to perform simulations are available after 14 days and this will remain until Go Live.

Considering that during the External parallel run phase, involved parties continuously gain experience and evolve their processes, there are still various assumptions and known limitations in relation to the stability of the process and capacity calculation results that have to be considered when interpreting the results. Core TSOs will maintain the overview on these assumptions and limitations with the related runs on the JAO website.

Communication channels

Questions in relation to the Core FB MC project in general and (publication) of the Core Flow inputs and market coupling simulation results can be raised on the Q&A forum: http://coreforum.my-ems.net/

Market participants that would like to follow closer the project development, are invited to join the Core Consultative Group (CCG) by sending an email to CoreCG@magnus.nl. The participants of the Core Consultative Group will receive regular information, and invitations to teleconferences and meetings.

Best regards,

Core TSOs
