Introduction of electronic signatures and reduction of paperwork
Dear Market Participants,
JAO is happy to announce that as part of our process optimization initiative, we are reducing the paperwork by implementing the following changes:
1. Introduction of electronic signatures for registration documents, power of attorney, fund transfer requests, modification requests and termination requests: In recognition of the eIDAS EU Regulation, JAO will from now on accept documents signed with a qualified electronic signature from the European Commission Trusted List. All of those documents can still be signed by hand and mailed, however if you already have a qualified electronic signature, we suggest you use this option to save time and mailing costs. The updated PDF forms have been uploaded in the Resource Center of our website and can be signed with Adobe Acrobat or any other tool compatible with your qualified electronic signature. Once signed, simply attach them to your ticket in https://servicedesk.jao.eu. Our management will countersign them electronically and we will send them back in the same ticket – no printing, no mailing.
2. Reduction of modification requests usage: We will no longer require modification request forms for address changes, changes of contacts or changes to the company name. For those cases a ticket in https://servicedesk.jao.eu will be enough to handle the information update.
It is important to note that a document can either be signed only electronically or only by hand as electronic signatures lose their validity if they are printed.
The Registration guide available in the Resource center on JAO’s webpage has been updated to reflect the new process and is at your disposal for further reference.
