Registration for COBRAcable Auctions

Dear Market Participant,

We would like to inform you that COBRAcable (Denmark West – the Netherlands) interconnector shadow auctions will be launched on the 6th of September 2019 for delivery 7th of September 2019.

These auctions will serve as the fallback solution for the day-ahead market coupling.

The Shadow Allocation Rules 1.4 has been updated, reflecting the new border in Annex 1 and Annex 2 and COBRAcable ramping constraint in Annex 3.

The first explicit long term products is expected to be held in October 2019 for November 2019 capacities. The exact date will be communicated in the auction calendar.

With this in place, please be aware that the registration process for participation in Auctions on COBRAcable is now open.

All pertaining documents can be found on the JAO S.A website (Support>>Resource Center>>Registration).

For Shadow Auctions (Physical Transmission Rights)

1. First time registration

Send the Participation Agreement with this border (DK1-NL) included in your selection and accept the relevant rules, along with other registration documents.

2. Already registered, but have not sent Amendment No. 7 to Participation Agreement

Send Amendment No. 7 to Participation Agreement properly filled and signed.

3. Already registered and have sent Amendment No. 7 to Participation Agreement, but wish to modify your choices

Send the MODIFICATION REQUEST form for participating in Shadow Auctions held on COBRAcable (Denmark West – the Netherlands) interconnector and attach the amended page(s).

For the Long-term Auctions (Financial Transmission Rights)

1. First time registration

Send the Participation Agreement, along with other relevant registration documents.

2. Already Registered

No action necessary, as all entitlements are automatically provided to the registered participants at the time of the commercial go-live.

Please be informed that in order to nominate Physical Transmission Rights on COBRAcable, it is necessary to register as a Balance Responsible Party in both Denmark and the Netherlands. In addition it is required to provide a Notification Use of Capacity to TenneT which is available on TenneT's website.
