Upcoming New ECAN 6 Format for Allocation Results File

Published:

Dear Market Participants,

We are excited to announce an upcoming enhancement based on your feedback and our commitment to continuous improvement. To enhance your experience, we are improving the Auction Results files, particularly regarding capacity won during maintenance periods.

We are adding a new format for the Auction Results (AR) files, introducing ECAN 6 (curve type) alongside the existing ECAN 4 (no curve type). This addition will provide clearer insights and better visibility of capacity won during maintenance periods.

You will have the option to choose between the current AR format, which excludes maintenance period data, and the new ECAN 6 format, which includes detailed information on capacity allocated during maintenance periods when applicable.

To assist with this transition, we have also included mapping files for both ECAN 4 and ECAN 6 formats. These will help you update your systems accordingly.

Please find both versions of the AR sample files and the mapping file attached below.

Once this change is implemented, you will be able to select your preferred file format by submitting an updated user account form. The updated User Account Form will be made available closer to the go-live date for this change, when registration for the modifications will open.

This change aims to offer a more efficient way to assess auction results.

We appreciate your input and are committed to enhancing your experience. If you have any questions, please contact the JAO Service Desk.

Kind regards,

JAO Operations Team
