Update on 20% minRAM implementation

Please be informed on the following with regards to the previously announced 20% minRAM implementation:
· The solution will go-live on 24/04/2018 in D-2 (for BD 26/04/2018)
· Results of the impact assessment can be found attached
· Enclosed for information also the CWE Consultative Group presentation on 20% minRAM

Dear market participants,

In the light of recent discussions between CWE TSOs and NRAs regarding further optimization of CWE capacities, CWE NRAs asked CWE TSOs to implement a 20% minimum remaining available margin (minRAM) by end of April 2018 at the latest. Following a technical feasibility check CWE TSOs acknowledge the request and decided as follows:
- Implement a patch that ensures a minRAM on all CBCOs. The agreed minRAM level equals 20% of Fmax. The feasibility of the MinRAM application will be verified by TSOs for each business day.

CWE TSOs will inform you in more detail on this change during the CWE Consultative Group meeting on the 10th of April in Munich.
