Registration

  • Is there a maximum number of users that can be registered per participant?

    Our answer

    No. You may register as many users as you deem necessary. However, we recommend to limit the access due to security reasons.

  • Can I use the same certificate as someone else?

    Our answer

    No. The Registered Participant and the User expressly acknowledge that the Authentication is strictly personal and may not be transferred.

    The Registered Participant takes full responsibility for the Authentication of User(s) registered by it, Authentication protection and the use made of it. This includes in particular obligation to keep the Authentication confidential and to take any measures necessary to ensure that it is not disclosed to or used by third parties.

  • How long does the User/Trader registration process take?

    Our answer

    The Allocation Platform shall confirm the creation of the user account or may send a refusal note to the Registered Participant, at the latest, five (5) Working Days after the receipt of the relevant signed and completed form by the Registered Participant.

  • How can I register as a User/Trader?

    Our answer

    To register as a User/Trader, you must submit a properly filled User Account Form. Additionally, for users of the Auction Tool, it is required to use electronic certificates for login and communication validation. This needs to be requested through a competent service provider.

    JAO S.A. will provide to the User, in order to access and use the Auction Tool, a User ID and a Password. The Password must be changed by the User after he/she logs in.

    User ID and Password together with electronic certificate will have to be used by the User each time it wants to access and use the Auction Tool. Providers of electronic certificates can be found on the internet.

    We recommend you submit the specifications found in the Information System Rules to the service provider asking them if they can issue the certificate according to specification. The Certificates Q&A, Technical Requirements can be found on the JAO website in the section Support/Resource Center. Please be advised that you may obtain the electronic certificate from other sources, providing that it matches our technical requirements.

    All the relevant documents and forms requested for registration together with the detailed registration procedure are available on the JAO S.A website in the Resource Center on the menu "eCAT".

  • How long does the registration process take?

    Our answer

    The Allocation Office (JAO S.A) shall assess the completeness of the information submitted within five (5) Working Days of receipt of the completed and signed Participation Agreement.

    Before the expiration deadline of the five (5) Working Days, JAO S.A shall ask the participant to provide any outstanding information which the market participant failed to submit in the Participation Agreement.

    Once the information is received, JAO S.A will an additional five (5) Working Days to review the information and inform the market participant if further information is required.

    Upon registration, JAO S.A will send to the Participant:

    •  One (1) counter signed copy of the Participation Agreement
    •  One (1) counter signed copy of Financial Agreement.

    All the relevant documents and forms requested for registration together with the detailed registration procedure are available on the JAO S.A website in the “Support Tab”, “Resource Center” on the drop-down menu “JAO Registration” Section.

    Registered Market Participants have right to participate in all Long-Term auctions organized by JAO S.A and to acquire capacity for all borders and all directions. However, to nominate and to use acquired capacity Market Participant needs to follow the local nomination rules.

  • Why/When do I have to send hard copies of the documents?

    Our answer

    JAO S.A requires hard copies for accurate record keeping and to verify the authenticity of the documents, this only applies when the registration documents are submitted with handwritten signatures.

    A hard copy of the Extract from the commercial register might be required if an electronically signed copy can’t be provided or if the extract is not available for public access online.

  • How can we register?

    Our answer

    The documents required for initial registration are different if you sign them with a qualified electronic signature conforming to the eIDAS regulation.

    In both cases it is required to provide the documents no later than 7 working days before the auction in which you intend to participate.

    Prior to sending the registration documents by postal mail to JAO S.A, all documents should be submitted to JAO’s Service Desk.

     

    For handwritten signatures:

     Acrobat pro

    And/or other documents providing evidence of signatory rights, Power of Attorney, Signatory Specimen and IDs of persons to which the Power of Attorney is given for call of payment from dedicated cash account of the Registered Participant.

    For electronic signatures:

     Acrobat pro

    And/or other documents providing evidence of signatory rights, Power of Attorney, Signatory Specimen and IDs of persons to which the Power of Attorney is given for call of payment from dedicated cash account of the Registered Participant.

     

    Note: A participant can be registered for “participation only in transfer of Long Term Transmission Rights”. In that case, signature of the Financial Agreement is not required and no business account is to be opened for this participant.
